Dulux BOGO window painting
Overview
We collaborated with the local Dulux store to create a vibrant window painting for their Buy One Get One Free sale. This project came about as part of a mutual exchange: in return for donated paint for our Farmers' Market mural, we painted their windows with a bold and fun design to attract attention to their promotion.
Design Inspiration
The artwork combined bright orange letters to emphasize the sale with a pattern of oversized painting tools, including rollers, paint cans, and brushes. Fun, flower-like embellishments complemented the font style, tying the design together with playful energy.
Key Features
We used a bright and cheerful palette to make the windows stand out. The design showcased our signature simplistic vector illustration style, with geometric shapes painted by hand using water-based acrylic paint. This ensured the artwork was vibrant yet temporary, allowing for easy removal when needed.
Our Role
We conceptualized and hand-painted the entire window design, focusing on bold visuals and a balance of geometry and whimsy. The contrast between the clean, vector-inspired imagery and the hand-painted execution was a key highlight, adding charm and character to the display.
Outcome
The Dulux window painting drew attention to their sale, brightening the store’s façade and creating a dynamic visual connection with customers. This project demonstrated the value of collaborative community relationships while showcasing the unique interplay between bold design and handcrafted execution.
